We’re two former stay-at-home moms turned proud empty nesters, and the creative minds behind Raising the Bar—a name that perfectly sums up what we love to do.

 

Once upon a time, our days revolved around lunchboxes, carpools, and cheering from the sidelines. Now, with the kids grown and the house a little quieter, we’ve taken that time and energy and raised the bar on how we create—painting, pottery-ing, upcycling and curating one-of-a-kind pieces designed to elevate your living space.  This  business was born from a creative itch that refused to be ignored. It’s where an MBA holder’s strategic mindset meets the trained eye of a former antique store owner, blending thoughtful design, timeless charm, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. Together, we hunt for pieces with good bones and hidden potential, restoring them with care and just the right amount of imagination.

 

At Raising the Bar, we believe in second chances—for furniture, décor, and ourselves. Every piece we touch has lived a life before, and our goal is to honor that history while giving it a fresh, elevated future. Sustainability matters to us, originality matters to us, and so does creating art that feels personal, intentional, and beautifully unexpected.

 

Our workshop runs on creativity, coffee, and laughter, with a healthy dose of humor (because raising the bar sometimes means standing on a ladder with a paintbrush and a big idea). This season of life has given us the freedom to create boldly, dream bigger, and bring thoughtfully reimagined pieces into homes that value character and story.
